FISP is engaging parents and students in South Florida schools to start HOPE SUNSHINE clubs which will meet weekly. FISP will help teens plan programs like: mental health, bullying, suicide prevention, social and the “SUN” problem solving program as well as fun and engaging activities to develop empathy, self worth, feelings of belonging and good citizenship skills will be included. The students will plan and run the annual Hugs for Hope event at their schools to educate their parents and classmates about bullying and suicide prevention with a prevention program, music, hugs and the distribution of hugs candies to let all attending know that others care and will be there for them. Each club member will get sponsors for the event to help fund it.

Does your school have one?The student members are encouraged to be innovative and creative with each subject discussed. Below is a guide to what the club weekly meetings will discuss and the subjects they will cover. Students must have the flexibility to deal with whatever problems and issues they are dealing with whenever the need arises. FISP will provide information about each subject to be explored and presented at the HUGS for HOPE Hug-a-Thon. At meetings in which there are discussions chairs can be arranged in a circle.
